Graveside services for Amado L. Garcia, 91, of Thomasville, will be Saturday, April 8, 2017, at 11 a.m., at Peaceful Rest, with burial to follow. Rev. Mr. John Blaha will officiate. Mr. Garcia passed away at his residence on Monday, April 3, 2017. Born in Ceiba, Honduras on December 26, 1925, Mr. Garcia was the son of the late Micaela Garcia and Gregorio Lopez. He married Petrona Castillo Garcia in Tela, Honduras on April 11,1958. A retired merchant seaman, Mr. Garcia was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He lived in Thomasville for four years. Mr. Garcia was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bernardino Lopez of Honduras; his sisters, Petrona Aranda (Balentine), Dominga Lopez, and Paula Lopez. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of almost 59 years; four daughters, Vilma Lopez (Juan Carlos) of High Park, Massachusetts, Leny Garcia-Hill (Tommy) of Thomasville, Eda White (Sam) of Sylvester, and Grace J. Lopez of McDonough; two sons, Mario Cesar Lopez (Fatima) of Comayagua, Honduras, Amado Lopez Jr. of Brighton, Massachusetts; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Junior Lopez (Priscilla) and Allen Adolfo Lopez of Kissimmee, Florida, Junior Alexander Lopez of South Carolina and Yessenia Lopez of New York, Oscar Lopez of Comayagua, Honduras, Matias Lambert Jr. (Mary) of Jacksonville, Florida, Tommy Amado Hill of Thomasville, and Amber Smith of Tampa, Florida; one great grandchild, Janiel Elijah Lopez of Kissimmee, Florida; one brother, Romulo Lopez (Bita) of New York; one sister, Petronila Lopez of Ceiba, Honduras; special cousin, Oscar Garcia (Mercedes) of Houston, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation is Friday, April 7, 2017 from noon until 7 p.m. at Hatcher-Peoples Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
